Barcelona, Spain

After the cruise, we spent two nights in Barcelona to explore before heading to Athens. Barcelona is beautiful, green, and lively.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Barcelona, which was pretty nice. It had a central location, decent (7/10) food, a small but beautiful pool area, and nice rooms. You could see the FC Barcelona stadium right outside our window.

We walked around aimlessly and ate in cafes that looked popular. We ate tapas a few times. We had lunch with an old friend, Elif, who we met when we lived in Turkey who adopted us and helped us understand Turkish culture (even if she wasn’t the best language teacher.)

We walked around the exterior of the Sagrada Familia because tickets were booked months out, since apparently it’s finished, although the flock of cranes around it suggests otherwise.
